June–July 2026 Climate Guide

← ← Before You Fly

Overview

Your trip runs from June 25 to July 14 — the heart of Central European summer. Expect warm, pleasant days with long daylight hours (16+ hours of daylight in late June), but pack for afternoon thunderstorms and the occasional cool evening. Temperatures are given in both °F and °C throughout.

☀️ UV Index is HIGH throughout the trip — June and July are the peak UV months across all destinations. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are essential, even on overcast days. The long northern European daylight hours mean more cumulative sun exposure than you might expect.

Rainy days/month
  • June in Wrocław is excellent — long sunny days (~8.5 hrs sunshine), warm afternoons, cool evenings. The city is at its most beautiful in summer with outdoor terraces and the Market Square buzzing
  • July is the warmest month but also the wettest — afternoon thunderstorms are common, especially from mid-July. Typically short and dramatic rather than all-day rain
  • Evenings can be cool (12–14°C / 54–57°F) even in high summer — bring a light layer for outdoor dinners
  • June has the most sunshine of any month (8.4 hrs/day average) — excellent for the venue scouting drives through the Lower Silesian countryside
For the wedding venue scouting drives (June 30 – July 2), expect warm and largely sunny weather with a small chance of afternoon storms. The countryside around Wrocław is lush and green in late June — the venues will be looking their best.

Rainy days in June
  • Late June in Prague is one of the best times to visit — warm but not sweltering, long days, and the city's outdoor café culture at full throttle
  • Afternoon thunderstorms are possible from late June — typically short-lived but heavy. The Baroque covered arcades of Malá Strana provide great shelter
  • Nights are cool — temperatures drop to 10–12°C (50–54°F). A light jacket or cardigan is essential for the ghost tour (June 27 evening) and the Klementinum concert (June 28 evening)
  • Prague Castle sits on a hill — there can be a noticeable breeze at the castle level even on warm days. Bring a layer for the June 29 castle tour
  • Humidity averages 69–70% in late June — comfortable rather than oppressive
Cobblestone streets dry quickly after summer rain but can be slippery during a downpour — rubber-soled shoes are especially important in Prague. The covered Malá Strana arcades and the Klementinum courtyard are natural shelter spots.

🇵🇱 Kraków — July 5–8

Rainy days in July
  • July is Kraków's warmest month — pleasantly warm for sightseeing, with peak summer atmosphere and outdoor festivals
  • It is also the wettest month in Kraków — rain is frequent, usually as afternoon showers or short thunderstorms rather than sustained downpours. Always carry a compact umbrella
  • The Rynek Główny (Main Market Square) is surrounded by arcades and covered café terraces — excellent shelter if storms roll in
  • Nights are warm enough for light clothing but a thin jacket is useful for the Kazimierz evening (July 7)
  • Wieliczka Salt Mine (July 6) is underground at a constant 14°C (57°F) — bring a layer regardless of how warm it is outside
  • Kraków sits in a valley between hills — summer days can be humid and foggy in the mornings, clearing to sunshine by mid-morning
For the Auschwitz visit (July 6), be prepared for any weather — the camp site is vast and largely exposed. Sunscreen, a hat, comfortable walking shoes, and a light rain jacket are all essential. There is little shade on the Birkenau site.

🇵🇱 Sopot & Gdańsk — July 8–11

21°C / 70°F
Avg High
15°C / 59°F
Avg Low (nights)
18.5°C / 65°F
Baltic Sea temp
9.2 hrs
Sunshine/day
  • The Baltic coast is cooler than inland Poland — expect daytime highs of 20–23°C (68–73°F) with a fresh sea breeze that makes it feel refreshing rather than hot
  • Sopot in early-to-mid July is beautiful — long bright evenings, the pier lit up, outdoor restaurants and bars at their best
  • Baltic Sea temperature in July averages 18–19°C (65°F) — cool but swimmable for the brave. Most people wade rather than swim fully. By late July/August it warms slightly to 20–21°C
  • July has the most rainy days of any month in Sopot (~15 days) but rainfall is spread out and rarely ruins a whole day
  • The sea breeze can make evenings feel noticeably cooler — bring a proper jacket for evening walks along the Molo and dinner on Monte Cassino
  • Sunscreen is still necessary despite the breeze — UV Index 5 (moderate-high) throughout
Pack a light-to-medium jacket specifically for the Baltic coast — even on warm July days, the sea breeze at the Molo can feel quite fresh by evening. This is the one part of the trip where layers make the biggest difference day-to-day.
