Europe eSIM — What You Need to Know
Your trip covers both Poland and the Czech Republic — two countries, two mobile networks. The easiest solution is a single Europe-wide eSIM installed on your phone before departure. No physical SIM swap, no roaming surprises. Buy online, scan a QR code, done. Your home SIM stays active for calls and texts — the eSIM handles data only.
Recommended Provider
Based on research across travel forums and user reviews, Saily stands out for best customer support and fast internet speeds — exactly what you need navigating a new country. Europe regional plan covers both Poland and Czech Republic on reliable 4G/5G networks. Clean app, easy setup, no surprises.
Data Plan Tips
- A 10 GB plan is plenty for 3 weeks of maps, messaging, and photos. Choose 20 GB if you video call frequently or work on the road
- Most plans are data only — keep your US SIM active for calls and texts. Use WhatsApp or FaceTime over data for free group messaging
- Check your phone supports eSIM: iPhone XR or newer · Samsung Galaxy S20 or newer · Google Pixel 3 or newer
- You can have both your US SIM and the eSIM active simultaneously — calls come in on your US number, data runs through the eSIM
⚠️ AT&T Users — Read This
AT&T-locked phones cannot use third-party eSIMs unless the device is unlocked first. This affects most AT&T customers whose phones are still under a payment plan or recently paid off.
Option 1 — Unlock your phone (recommended)
If your device is fully paid off, request an unlock at att.com/deviceunlock. Processing takes 24–48 hours. Once unlocked, you can use any eSIM provider above.
Option 2 — AT&T International Day Pass
If still under a payment plan, use AT&T's International Day Pass at $10/day. It activates automatically when you use data abroad and caps at 10 days ($120 maximum) per billing cycle — after 10 days the rest of the month is included. Easy, no setup required, but more expensive than an eSIM for a 20-day trip.
